Food For The Poor Canada held our third annual Thanksgiving Lunch at The Toronto Hunt on the weekend. The lunch was an opportunity to celebrate our donors, supporters and partners and raise funds for the community of Petite Riviere de l’Artibonite in Gressier, Haiti.

Medicines are offered to local partners before they arrive and distribution begins across the island nation within 1-2 weeks of arriving.

Children from Triumphant Basic School got a surprise on their last day of the school year: a tour of the new school they will return to in September. The project is the largest school build to date by Food For The Poor Canada and replaces a building that held 150 children in a two-room school.

The Sunwing Foundation is delighted to announce that building work began last week on the charitable initiative’s first project — the funding and construction of a new, state of the art school in Trelawny, Jamaica in collaboration with Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation and Food For The Poor Canada.
