"My name is Rina, I am 33 years old. The biggest problem in our community is taking our children to the Marcala health centre since it becomes difficult for us as we are quite far from the nearest health centre. The available means of transportation is also far from our community. It is very normal that we as mothers arrive at the health centre in Marcala late due to lack of transportation and that we do not get to receive medical assistance for our children. We have to return to our community without receiving healthcare or we have to wait all day for a general consultation and it is very difficult for us to go through this with our children."

The challenges and realities of receiving healthcare look different across the varied communities of the Caribbean and Latin America. In #Honduras, our donors are making healthcare more accessible to moms like Rina and their families.

Across the #Caribbean and #LatinAmerica, our donors support nurses by helping to stock #hospitals and #clinics with essential supplies such as medicines, medical machinery, hospital beds, and #masks and face shields during the pandemic, too. Recently 25,000 health care professionals received masks in Haiti to protect themselves and their patients!

Masks have reached nurses, doctors, the elderly, and many others to keep them safe from COVID-19 in #Haiti 😷

Nurses and doctors across 167 clinics have received masks as they continue to assist patients with COVID-19 and rely on PPE daily. In orphanages, churches and homes for the elderly, these masks protect individuals who lack the means to purchase masks for their protection. Haiti does not produce their own masks and the economic downturn has made it difficult for health centres, communities and individuals to purchase masks.

#ThankYou especially to the generous donation by our partners @globalmedicdmgf
distribution by Food For The Poor Haiti and Canadian donors whose donations support shipments of aid and health care supplies to communities across the Caribbean and Latin America.

Check out the greenhouses at the San Antonio Vocational Agricultural School in Honduras!

One greenhouse provides vegetables that the school and entire community can consume. The second greenhouse contains fruit trees and coffee plants that the school sells and re-invests the proceeds back into the school.

The greenhouses also provide a fantastic classroom for students to learn practical agricultural skills.

A big thank you to FFPC donors and @proyectos_cepudo
