This summer, Canadian donors helped send 60 at-risk youth to summer band camp! Learning how to play an instrument not only inspires youth, but exposes them to a whole new world of opportunities.

Over a 4-week period, students come together to learn either the clarinet, tenor and alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, flute, or drums. This life-long skill opens the door for many students to make a career out of performing at various events. Participants have said that it also provided them with the opportunity to develop self-confidence, discipline, and create life-long friendships!

Story: Daniel Richards

“Learning to play all these instruments has been life-changing. Music is what I now do for a living, as I am able to perform at weddings, funerals, and other events. My goal is to become a famous musician, traveling around the world.”

Throughout the life of the initiative, over 500 students ages 6 to 16 have been mentored, trained, and had their lives permanently changed for the better. Thank you for providing these youth with the opportunity to learn, grow, connect and play. We could not have done it without you!
