We recently joined forces with ICHS Alumnae Association Toronto Chapter to help rebuild the Food and Nutrition Labs at Immaculate Conception High School in Jamaica.
On June 7, we loaded a 40′ container at Nella Toronto with necessary major appliances, furnishings, sinks, work tables, demo stations, shelving, small wares and cooking tools needed for the labs to be rebuilt and operational.
Food and nutrition is a compulsory subject for all students in grades 7 and 9. The labs are where the students develop key life skills in food preparation preparing them for careers in the food industry. This upgrade will ensure that the school meets government standards and can offer students the education they need to build their future.
