But for many low-income families, the rising costs of tuition, lunches, and school supplies poses a steep barrier for parents to keep their children in school. Together we can help change that and ensure that children have the tools they need to succeed. Because when we invest in children’s education, they develop the skills and confidence to help lift their families out of poverty.
This year, our goal is to give scholarships to 150 students in celebration of our 15th anniversary!
Scroll down to read the stories of two of those students: Channel and Dimitri.
7-year old Channel was given the opportunity to succeed and she took it. She received the second highest score in her class and was awarded a certificate for outstanding achievement!
“My little one was so excited to receive her back-to-school supplies she could not stop smiling as she unpacked everything.“
– Channel’s Mother, Crystal
Dimitri is one of four children to Kimoula, a single mother and a Food For the Poor housing recipient. She is currently employed within the Mustard Seed Community as a care giver. Expressing gratitude for the support, Ms. Cole stated,
‘’We are grateful for the amazing back-to-school assistance. You have made my 7-year old’s experience truly special”.
Watch Dimitri work on building his vocabulary!
Canadian donors like you have sent 143 students Back To School in Jamaica since the start of the program! Thank you for providing these youth with the opportunity to learn, grow, connect and play. We could not have done it without you!
You can ensure that more kids like Channel have a place in class and the tools they need to thrive. Help give parents the gift of keeping their child in school for only $25/month!
