Food For The Poor Canada (FFPC) is committed to safeguarding our supporters’ privacy. The purpose of the donor privacy policy is to describe how FFPC collects, uses and discloses personal information. This policy is our guarantee that we will maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the personal information entrusted to us by our donors.
Information collected
FFPC collects donor personal information which may include name, address, telephone number, credit card and banking information. FFPC collects this information in order to collect gifts, issue receipts and send FFPC communications.
FFPC works to maintain accuracy and completeness of the personal information collected. Occasionally, we request information from our donors to ensure our information is accurate and complete.
Safeguarding information
FFPC uses donors’ personal information to understand their interests in our mission and to update donors on our activities and future plans.
Donor gifts may be publicly acknowledged through our newsletters, website and events; however, all donors shall be provided with an opportunity to be anonymous and to request that his or her name and/or the amount of gift not be publicly acknowledged.
FFPC has developed both physical measures and organizational practices to ensure information in held both sensitively and confidentially. FFPC has physical procedures in place to hold donor personal information. For example, storage of records, locked filing cabinets and restricted access to files and the use of passwords and encryptions.
FFPC has organizational practices including a strict ‘need to know’ access to information among staff. FFPC does not sell donor or other fundraising lists.
