It is clear that families with access to healthcare and basic medicines are more likely to access education and work to sustain their own livelihood.

To this end, Food For The Poor Canada works to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and families in the Caribbean and Latin America.

SUPPORT FOR HEALTH HELPS US TO:

• Focus on projects such as water wells and water collection systems that increase access to clean water and sanitation.

• Offset the cost of shipping medicines, medical machinery, and medical supplies to underserved hospitals and clinics.

• Support the enhancement and renovation of health infrastructures.

OVERVIEW OF OUR IMPACT:

• Since 2009, we have provided over $41 million equivalent in value of medicines and equipment to hospitals and clinics.

• Built the San Antonio Health Clinic in Honduras, providing local healthcare access and reducing the need for costly trips to the city to over 1,000 people across six communities.

• Conducted a four-week pilot Transitional Living Respite Program in the Bahamas supporting youth with mental disabilities with a focus on developing their independence.

• Hosted a three-day mobile clinic, treating 400 patients in Baramita, Guyana.
