How are individuals, families, or communities you support selected?
We work with our in-country partners and community leaders who regularly assess regional needs and collaborate with us for responding to most urgent or greatest needs.

While we are a faith-based organization, our support is neutral, impartial, apolitical, and encompasses all religions and beliefs.
How do I make a gift?
We offer many ways to make a donation. Visit our Get Involved page to learn about possible methods of donation.
Can I donate to a specific cause or project?
We encourage you to first consider an unrestricted gift, allowing us the flexibility to respond to the areas of greatest need, which greatly varies between countries and seasons. For example, while funds are secured for a project, missing ideal time for crop planting or a hurricane can greatly delay the launch of a project.

However, if you do decide to designate your gift to a specific area, you can select one of our five program areas that best aligns with your philanthropic goals using our online giving form or noting your designation on your cheque.

If you wish to designate your support to a specific major gift project, please contact us at donations@foodforthepoor.ca or 416-839-8009 so we can work with you to ensure that your gift goes where you want it to.
Will I receive an official tax receipt?
Yes. All financial donations to Food For The Poor Canada receive an official tax receipt.
